Buscomint Peppermint Oil Gastro-Resistant Soft Capsules are an easy-to-swallow, herbal remedy used to relieve abdominal pain, cramping, bloating and flatulence, especially in patients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Always take Buscomint Peppermint Oil Gastro-Resistant Soft Capsules exactly as directed in the patient information leaflet, or as advised by your doctor or our Health Nest pharmacist. For adults and children over 12 years of age who weigh at least 40 kg (6 stone), take 1 gastro-resistant capsule 3 times a day.
The capsules must be swallowed whole with liquid, 30 minutes before a meal. These capsules should be taken until your symptoms resolve, usually within 1 or 2 weeks. You must talk to your GP if your symptoms worsen or you do not feel better after 2 weeks.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a condition that affects the digestive system, and it is quite common. You may experience symptoms varying from stomach cramps, bloating, gas, diarrhoea and constipation. Your symptoms may come and go, last for a period of time, or you may find that certain things trigger a flare-up.
The exact cause of IBS isn’t yet known, but some factors are common in people with the condition. If you’ve got an abnormality in your digestive system, it may cause discomfort when releasing gas or stool.
Your brain won’t send the accurate signals to your intestines, which can result in your body overreacting to the digestive process, causing discomfort, constipation and diarrhoea. You’re more prone to developing IBS if you’ve had a serious bout of diarrhoea caused by an infection, or if you’ve got a lot of bacteria harbouring in the intestines. Stressful situations can also be a trigger for IBS in certain people, especially if it occurred during childhood.
Buscomint Peppermint Oil Gastro-Resistant Soft Capsules are not suitable for children under the age of 12. If you’re looking to treat abdominal pain, cramping, bloating or flatulence in a child under the age of 12, you should speak to your GP or a Health Nest pharmacist for advice on alternative treatment options.
