How Does Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream Work?

Daktacort HC Cream contains two active ingredients which are hydrocortisone acetate and miconazole nitrate. Hydrocortisone acetate is a mild steroid used to treat inflamed sweat, swelling, redness, and itching. Miconazole nitrate is an antifungal agent that targets and destroys the fungus causing the infection and some associated bacteria.

Who Can Use Daktacort Cream?

Daktacort HC Cream is suitable for most adults. However, you should not use this medicine if you:

• Are allergic to hydrocortisone, miconazole, or any other ingredient in the cream.
• Have other skin conditions such as, cold sores, acne, herpes, chickenpox, or shingles.
• Have broken skin in the affected area.

• Are using other medications.

How To Use Daktacort HC Cream

Apply a small amount of the cream to the affected area twice daily. Follow these steps for application:

1. Wash your hands before applying the cream.
2. Wash the infected area.
3. Apply to the affected area and gently rub in until the cream disappears.
4. Wash your hands carefully after applying to avoid spreading the infection.

Do not use the cream for more than 7 days. If symptoms continue, speak with your GP or a pharmacist.
