Please note: This external cream provides symptom relief only. It does not treat the internal vaginal infection, so it should be used alongside an internal thrush treatment such as a pessary or capsule.

Who Can Use Canesten Thrush External Cream?

This product is suitable for women aged 16 to 60, experiencing external thrush symptoms. You should not use this cream if:

• You are under 16 or over 60 years old
• You are allergic to clotrimazole or any of the ingredients
• You’re unsure whether your symptoms are due to thrush
• You’ve had thrush more than twice in six months
• You or your partner has had a sexually transmitted infection

When Should This Cream Not Be Used?

Avoid using Canesten Thrush External Cream if you experience any of the following:

• Abnormal or irregular vaginal bleeding
• Blood-stained discharge
• Sores, ulcers, or blisters in the vaginal or vulval area
• Pain or difficulty urinating
• Fever, chills, or nausea
• Diarrhoea or a foul-smelling discharge

These symptoms may indicate another condition that requires medical diagnosis. Please consult your GP.

How to Use Canesten Thrush External Cream

Always follow the instructions in the patient leaflet or as directed by your doctor or Health Nest pharmacist.

1. Wash and dry your hands before application.
2. Apply the cream 2 to 3 times daily around the entrance of the vagina.
3. Use a thin, even layer and gently smooth it into the skin.
4. Use alongside an internal thrush treatment if recommended.
5. Do not cover the area with a dressing or bandage. Continue treatment until symptoms improve, usually within a few days.

Can I Use This Cream During Pregnancy or Breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor or Health Nest pharmacist before using this product. It may still be safe in some cases, but professional guidance is essential.
